Château Beauregard 2021

Concentrated and expressive fruit notes of brambles and dark cherries followed by black ink, peppery greens, anise, and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, firm tannins with crisp acidity. Broad and encompassing mid-palate with a layered finish. Nice depth and density to it. From organically grown grapes.

This fine estate in the heart of Pomerol has produced a richly textured, smoky wine, lifted by acidity. It is balanced while also dense and packed with black fruits and tannins. Drink this ripe wine from 2027. Organic. Roger Voss

Smells aromatic and fruity, lively and full of nuance, chocolate, menthol notes, fragranced dried flowers and liquorice touches and red fruits. Rich and well textured on the palate, juicy and alive. Nice purity and clarity to this, it has bite and a touch of high toned tangy red fruit to it, but it's lovely and light on its feet. Great body and character to this, enough fruit for sure, and well handled tannins. A really enjoyable glass with plenty going on. Still a touch tight but it's tension that gives energy rather than something being hidden. Very good. Flavour goes on and on, really lingers with cherry, liquorice and some minty touches. An upscore on Primeurs.

A wine that improved notably over the three weeks I spent in Bordeaux, the 2021 Beauregard offers up aromas of cherries, sweet berries, pipe tobacco, loamy soil and sweet spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and seamless, it's generous and textural, with a layered core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, penetrating finish. William Kelley (Note 91-93)

Couleur sombre et intense. Nez fruité, pur et riche en fruits frais. Bouche tout en délicatesse tactile, avec de l'éclat dans la saveur, de la nuance et une jolie finale fraîche et mûre en même temps. Corps fondant. Ensemble délicieux. Assemblage : 70 % merlot, 30 % cabernet franc. A noter que ce pourcentage va aller en s'accroissant dans les millésimes suivants.
